If you’re looking for a easy-access beach on Lake Michigan that isn’t overcrowded, Windsnest Park in West Olive is a short 35-40 minute drive from downtown Grand Rapids and provides the perfect backdrop for those dreamy, Lake Michigan sunsets.

Keep in mind that the staircase has been taken down due to erosion, so there is a small hill, or “mini dune” to enter the beach. Getting down is easy, getting back up is a quick little workout. The good news is that the parking lot is right next to the beach, so no treacherous hiking through the woods involved to put a damper on your photoshoot hair & makeup!
