If you live in the Midwest like I do, you know all too well how boring winters can be. It’s dark ALL THE TIME, you’re always cold, someone is always sick, and all you want to do is hunker down in a pile of blankets until spring rolls around.

But, sometimes we just need something to pull us out of our funk. Abby & Clay had a babysitter for the night and decided to brave the cold for a fun date night: ice skating with a photographer!

Not only did these two get to get out of the house for a little bit and reconnect, but now they have new photos that’ll get to look back on forever. I think it’s common once you have kids to think that every professional photoshoot needs to include them, but there is NOTHING wrong with prioritizing mom + dad every once in a while. If you’re already married with children, my guess is that the last time you and your partner had professional photos taken was your wedding and engagement pictures.

Remember how close you felt in those moments? Imagine reliving part of that tenderness with a mom + dad date night portrait session. At the very least, it’ll bring you all the warm and fuzzies during a cold January night!

This was my last session ever using a Canon M50 as my main camera body. The quality of the R6 is blowing my mind after being so use to this earlier mirrorless model and I can’t wait to start sharing my newest work! If you’re looking for a fun winter date night in West Michigan, I would love to capture some memories for you at Rosa Parks Circle. Get in touch with me today to learn more!
